"Foodie Choice" (hereinafter referred to as "this Application") is developed by HungChe Hsu (hereinafter referred to as "we," "us," or "our"). We highly value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, secure, and delete your information in compliance with Apple's App Store Privacy Manifest requirements and relevant regulations (including the Personal Data Protection Act of Taiwan).
Please read this Policy carefully before using this Application. By using this Application, you acknowledge and consent to all terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect & Its Purpose
To provide stable services, we collect only the minimum necessary information in accordance with Apple's Privacy Manifest guidelines:
- Account & Verification Data: When you register or log in, we collect your email address via Supabase authentication. We also collect your customized display name and profile picture/avatar. This data is associated with your account model and is used for core functionalities, cross-device synchronization, and managing "Foodie Pro" entitlements.
- Precise Location Data: To offer nearby restaurant map searches, radius filtering, and navigation directions, this Application requests permission to access your device's precise location. This location data is processed locally on your device or sent dynamically to Map APIs while the App is active. We never save, persist, or track your location history on our cloud servers.
- Dining Decision Data: When you create or join a voting room, we collect your voting history and preferences. To safeguard your privacy, our database utilizes strict Row Level Security (RLS). Your specific vote mappings are accessible only to yourself; other participants or room hosts can only view aggregated, anonymous vote counts (blind voting mode).
- Subscription & Purchase Information: To manage your "Foodie Pro" entitlement, we record your subscription status, plan type, and expiration date. Checkout processes are handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store; **we never access, collect, or store your credit card details or bank account information**.
- Device & Diagnostic Data: This includes anonymous crash logs, search volume counters (to enforce daily free quotas), and device identifiers, which are used solely to optimize stability and block malicious API spamming.
2. Data Security & Encryption
We employ industry-standard security techniques to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or theft:
- Encryption in Transit: All communication between this Application and the back-end servers (Supabase) is encrypted via secure HTTPS (TLS 1.2/1.3) channels.
- Database Access Control: Cloud database storage is hosted on Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled, strictly preventing cross-account access or database leaks.
- Secure Local Storage: Sensitive cache data on your device is stored using iOS Secure Storage or equivalent secure encryption protocols.
3. How We Use the Information
We use the collected information strictly for the following purposes, and never for unrelated promotional activities:
- To provide, maintain, and optimize the core features (restaurant search, spinner, voting rooms).
- To verify identities, ensuring account safety and accurate subscription entitlement checks.
- To deliver real-time data syncs during collaborative voting.
- To monitor server traffic, prevent abuse, malicious hacking, or abnormal cloud billing.
4. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We will **never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers or unrelated third parties**. We only process or share data with key technology partners to sustain service operations:
- Back-end Services: We utilize Supabase for user authentication, cloud databases, and cloud storage.
- Map & Location APIs: We utilize Google Maps API / Google Places API and Apple MapKit for nearby location searching, addresses, and maps.
- Advertising: The free version utilizes Google AdMob to display ads. We do not disclose your email or identity to AdMob.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law, court orders, or to cooperate with legitimate law enforcement investigations.
5. Data Retention, Account Deletion, and Withdrawal Rights (Data Deletion)
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service. We fully respect your control over your personal data:
- Account Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via the in-app "Settings" page or by contacting us at support@hungchehsu.com.
- Deletion Scope: Once an account deletion is requested, we will permanently and irreversibly delete your UserModel, email, saved folders, voting history, and custom configurations from Supabase.
- A small amount of technical log data may remain in secure server backups temporarily but is kept anonymized and is automatically cleared and overwritten when backups refresh.

This Application is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you find your child has provided us with personal details without consent, please contact us, and we will delete them immediately.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time due to legal changes or App upgrades. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Major changes will be announced inside the Application.
